Fall 2007
Welcome, students!!
This is the journal in which I will be posting your nightly homework assignments, updates/changes to the syllabus, and general ideas for consideration! As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or concerns about how this online journal project is proceeding.
Remember that you will need to email me with the name of your journal so that I can add you as a "friend." If you fail to do so, you will not be able to view your homework assignments or any other material that I post. You may keep your journal anonymous from your classmates, but I need to know who you are so that I can give you credit.
Once you have established your journal and emailed me its name, please read over my LJ profile for more information about this project. This should give you a better sense of how the online journals will work. Then, do the first homework assignment listed in the post above this. The homework should be posted to your journal, not to the community. Don't forget to make the post friends-only to prevent those outside our class from viewing it!
Also, I've added to Course Documents on BlackBoard a brief handout on basic HTML, for those of you that may be struggling with basic formatting. Please keep your journal layouts simple for now, as I will not be able to help you untangle a mish-mosh of CSS and HTML commands. This is an English class, not a Computer Science class -- please note that while I expect the primary focus to be on composition over technology, I do expect you to utilize all available tools to enhance your writing experience and its results.
Good luck, and enjoy!
